DESCRIPTION:

The entire construction, improvement, and upkeep of the data, analytics, BI, and machine learning ecosystem utilized by a large community of users (analysts, data scientists, technology partners, business/operations teams, etc.) is the responsibility of the Data Products and Platforms organization at Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products (DPEP). across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) and within DPEP.

The next-generation data platform and toolsets will be developed and operated by the Director, Technology – Data Platforms. In order to make decisions that are in line with the organization’s strategic goals, this highly technical position will require critical thinking and business acumen, as well as the ability to navigate an environment with little clear direction. Leading a team of managers, architects, engineers, and product managers with broad portfolio influence is expected to drive a data platform vision in this position.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure the platform and tools meet their requirements. Conduct market research and evaluation of COTS products in the big data ecosystem, and foster key industry and academic partnerships, to continuously evolve the data platform architecture to support the growing needs of the business. Prototype new technologies and implement innovative solutions that enable teams to consume and understand data faster, including best-in-class BI tooling. Architect extensible technical architectures to deliver the latest in machine learning

BS/MS degree in Software engineering, Designing, Math, Measurements, or related fields
10 years of pertinent involvement with Information Designing and Information Stages
High level information on Information Design, Information Warehousing, High level Examination, and Information Science executions, including the most recent exploration and industry patterns
Experience across Information Distribution center stages like Snowflake and BigQuery, with master level information in the Snowflake Stage
Aptitude with Information Lakehouse models and organizations/norms, like Parquet and Chunk of ice
Experience planning computerized, profoundly accessible ETL/ELT huge information pipelines at scale, utilizing innovations like Kinesis, Kafka and Google Bar/Sub
Experience with information change utilizing tooling, explicitly DBT

This remote position has a starting salary of $198,932 to $266,860 per year, depending on where you live. The actual base pay will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, and experience related to the job, and other factors. Depending on the level and position offered, the compensation package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
