What you’ll be doing:

Assists the Engineering Manager in assigning, supporting, training, mentoring, and reviewing the activities of Engineers. Uses high levels of technical expertise and extensive practical experience to resolve highly complex technical issues. Creates custom procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing, and other maintenance actions that aren’t covered enough in the manuals that are already out there.

• Explores airplane/part issues which might cause airplane deferrals or retractions, significant uses in labor or materials, or breaks in upkeep activities, and decides suitable restorative activities.
• develops action plans for projects involving component engineering, fleet/multi-fleet engineering, or both, and pursues final dispositions in accordance with assessed priorities.
• ensures that all Engineering actions comply with applicable regulatory requirements and keeps current on all regulations that affect areas of responsibility.
• makes use of the resources that are available to continuously raise levels of technical knowledge and practical experience. aims to improve communication skills, time management, and other personal qualities in order to perform assigned tasks as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• monitors daily operations and operational trends to identify and resolve issues affecting the airplanes’ operation and develops procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing, and other maintenance actions.

All you need to succeed Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10 years of work experience in an airline environment. Preferable qualifications include a master’s degree in engineering and 15 years of work experience in an airline environment. Expert knowledge of specific airplane systems and assemblies. Organizational Designation Authorization Yellow Belt or higher certification from an accredited Lean Six Sigma institution. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office. Understanding of the Lean Six Sigma principles. Able to multitask in a changing environment.
