Description:

As a member of Tesla’s Quality organization, the Quality Engineer, Closures (Models S/X) will participate in the production. The primary objective of this position is to support the production of high-quality electric vehicles by continuously enhancing the quality of processes, products, and their surrounding systems. The fruitful possibility for this position should be an issue solver at his/her center, have major areas of strength for an and client-centered outlook, and have the individual drive and endurance for persistent, ceaseless improvement (by and by and expertly).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Leading cross-functional teams that solve problems to drive product and process enhancements; use of QA methods to manage and make it easier to solve problems, like finding the root cause and coming up with, implementing, and keeping track of good preventative and corrective measures.

Metrics for quality performance should be set and maintained.
As part of the Tesla Quality System, create and implement quality standards to ensure that our products meet our target customers’ expectations.
Design and process FMEAs and DVAs, as well as product specifications and tolerances, should all be supported.
Control plans and inspection standards should be established and maintained to ensure that critical features are controlled throughout the assembly and production processes.
Lead/simplify the review and disposal of nonconforming materials identified for product control.
Keep your workspace neat and organized; adhere to 5S and daily housekeeping guidelines.
Work within the Tesla team to make it more productive, safer, and enjoyable to work in order to foster and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience, evidence of exceptional ability, and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
Experience working with quality systems in a manufacturing setting (preferably automotive).
Explicit preparation and showed progress in applying quality critical thinking strategies, for example, fishbone outlines, FMEA, process capacity examination, speculation testing, DoE, SPC, and so on.
familiarity with a wide range of methods for measuring and inspecting
Excellent communication abilities in speech, writing, and presentation.
ability and willingness to travel within the country and abroad (5% to 10%).
may be required to work longer hours depending on production and business requirements.
A strong quality mindset, ability to manage multiple priorities, and attention to detail are all necessary skills.
